i want to tell my cop snow story now. i was wandering the streets in the snow and there were other people out but usually in crowds and no one could walk very well. i got to 39th and wanted to check out what the main roads were like and i stopped and gaped bc they were terrible. at that moment 3 cop cars in a row drive past, my assumption to get a more driveable road since we don't have plows and make sure drivers and people are safe. i had on brown boots, maroon with racing stripe sweats, wool poncho in gray and my carhartt hat, a mis-matched mess. so the cops all look at me. the 3rd stops and says hello. i respond. they ask: "are you OK" and i say yes. "you sure you're OK...you have somewhere to go?" and i say yes, thanks. i am 99% sure they thought i was a transient ( i like that word) but how kind, either way.
wow, this is the earliest i've blogged in a long time. usually i do it last, but i had a story. i am going to look outside again. last time i saw nothing. maybe i'll keep the heat it. oh, and electric blankets rule. i didn't think i would like it. i got one for christmas and i love it!
UPDATE: here is a link to the article, they arrested the 90+ year old man that shot 2 people: article i think they could've handled the wording a bit more "delicately"

HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAH!!!!!!!
Oh My God!!!
Only in Oregon.
OMG they killed her dog?!? That is the saddest thing ever!! He was only trying to protect her! How horrible. So not only is this 12 year old's mom in the hospital -- his dog was killed too.... ugh. that's so incredibly sad.
I guess you can be an asshole when you're in your 90s too. Hopefully Willard Scott and the Smuckers Jam folks won't care when he turns 100.
Creep.
Oh man. The dog thing made me cry.
They couldn't have tranquilized it?
Ugh.
Why do I always feel worse for the dogs than the people?
PS - that's funny that they thought you were a transient.
i think that if the first bulletin on the page said "3 million cops outside 90something year old man with dimentia's house over suspected shooting" i wouldn't have noticed it or been afraid to leave the house.
yeah, i can't believe they killed her dog either, that's the part of the story that got me too. cops are supposed to have trainings how to get attack dogs off and they should carry tasers or tranquilizers bc guns shouldn't be the first resort with anything anyway. grr.
this guy must not've been a very good shot bc they are both living after a chest wound and head wound and sucks for him bc now his kids who were prolly already making decisions for him are definitely going to have to. what i hope is that if he does have mental issues is that he is stated incompetent and put in a home, away from guns.
and yeah, the cops talking to me was funny. i remember wanting to tell the story but never posted it...
BTW, there is a video now and in the background you can see my corner. it has a big purple house on it. weeeee
this shooting house has been added to the list of attractions to see in my neighborhood along with the meth house. neat.
I remember the big purple house.
I didn't read the article and I shouldn't have returned to your comments for that reason.
I spend a lot of time trying to avoid negative things...
shit.
the big purple house is a famed landmark, basically how i tell anyone where my house is.
and i didn't analyze anything with your comment really. don't think anything bad. i didn't.
i still love you. we don't have to break up. that would be tragic. *n
