VMA Recap

Ok, I watched the whole thing. I keep seeing and hearing about it everywhere. I keep thinking about it.

I think Russel Brand was hilarious. I like that he joked about himself being famous in Europe bc no one knew who he was. This is my favorite that got censored: "I wanted to say she (Palin) was forcing her teenage daughter to have a baby because she is so anti-abortion. But also, as a Republican, she is pro-execution so she is going to give her the electric chair for being a little sl*t. They weren’t keen on that one." I thought he got away with quite a bit but, especially bc he was endorsing Obama a lot in the beginning and begging us to vote. and repubs in the house.

I don't understand why Britney won everything. Her video is OK, but I don't think she deserved 3 awards for it. And she seems so robotesque. she may not be bat shit crazy anymore but she has no emotions left, that's bad. and she sure loves God. in the past she was seen kissing Madonna and now she is catatonic and thanking God. oooohhhh child!!!?!!!

Another reason I don't understand why Britney won is bc there were popular, talented, new-comers to the scene there. Jonas Brother (who I just found out are from NJ), Katy Perry (i heard she kissed a girl...and liked it?), Miley Cyrus (even though I hate her) and I am sure others. And also the Voter's Choice ended up being Tokio (Something) who I've never even heard of, I was really surprised by that one.

The performances weren't that great, Rihanna was cool, except for the huge cake dress on wheels she was transported in in the beginning, that was confusing. Jonas Brothers were cute. Katy Perry was totally cut into by talking and commercials :( Kid Rock was predictable. And Kanye may have been a bit too serious, maybe.
