on friday the boys were lazy bums and i sat and walked around a bunch and i got sunburnt eventho i put on sunscreen 3million times. we went to see les claypool who played with guys in tuxedos playing cello, xylophone and drums. he played a good mix of stuff even including having someone from primus sit in and playing a primus song. later that night was bassnectar who i would've watched for hours but was only on for 45 minutes =( and the moe. who wasn't that great but had cool looking lights.

on saturday we had a lot of music to see. steve kimock is a good guitar player, a great way to start out the afternoon. we had to endure some crap after that, but made our way up front for buckethead which was one of the best live shows i've ever seen. he can play super technically but also very melodically and does a bit of enjoyable performance art. freaking weird and freaking awesome.

after that, there was some other side stage thing, one of the old members of strangefolk and played some of their songs. and then there was yonder mountain string band who i don't like as a band or people bc they have been rude to me and other people, but they are hella good players. then was lake trout who didn't have their bass player with them. and had the main guitar player playing bass and the other guitar/other instrument player/singer playing more guitar or melodic stuff. it was interesting. i don't see any infor that they are a 4pc instead of a 5pc now so i guess it was just a fluke. bummer, i love them and they don't play that much. they have other side projects i should watch for. then sound tribe sector9 played and they were repetitive and boring. again, the lights looked cool.

(lights at night)
there was lots more other music and stuff going on. it was too big for me. before i found out that my dad was having surgery that weekend, i already decided that there was no way in hell i could handle going to phish. and finally here is me and col...

(col loves to be in pictures, nikkol intentionally makes dumb faces and regrets it later)

Aw!!! This looks like so much fun! I wish I had gone. Was it kid friendly?
um, there were areas specifically for kids and people tended to be a little more mindful around families in the concert field, but the walking was brutal. and not stroller friendly much either. but there were a lot of kids from newbies to teens to adult kids ;)
