i got stuff done yesterday - as in, i contacted people and got into a class starting today! way to be proactive. and i have an appt. today with dhs to get assistance, i might need to take dumb job classes but whatever. i also contacted my doc and am going to have a physical and thyroid and blood check and also either get or make appt. for pap and breast exam. woooo. i went to my friends house and chilled for a bit. they are going to MN and were packing so i was just illin. i also looked for some jobs and updated my resume. too bad i didn't get sub hours.

I was in New Orleans with my friend Mandie this summer and we took a trolley to the end of the line. We had a bottle of wine and a few hurricaine under our belts and we were out looking for adventure. It was actually a little bit scary.

The thing is that thyroid tests can sometimes come back normal when your thyroid isn't functioning correctly. Most tests don't test for everything... they just measure some things. And those things can sputter and give incorrect test results depending on what's happening inside of your body. So, even though I have Hashimotos... it wasn't detected until my third thyroid test. Because I wasn't going for them regularly... it took a year and a half for me to be diagnosed.
that was my long winded way of saying, "good. I'm glad."

that does sound scary...i do not recommend to anyone taking anything to the end of the line. that's going on the list of memoir titles.

Hey, I don't know if I've mentioned this because it's pretty personal (so, why NOT write it in a comment on your blog????) but my dr. put me on a special medication that is actually compounded to be tailored for my exact issue each month. And... I am down 49 lbs.
holy crap. thanks you for telling me. that is amazing! we're going to talk more at the follow up, she started me on this so i have something before the blood comes back and then we'll take it from there. so we'll see in 2 weeks. i took the first pill this a.m. =)
