i love where i live

yesterday as i was walking to meet up at the hippies for movie night, i was so content. i loved being in the fresh air and looking at the houses and more so the people, there are so many interesting people. but not just that - it just felt right. looking around and knowing, this is my town and it's wonderful. i love where i live! anyway, that's what i was thinking yesterday and it's still resonating with me today, so there you have it.

i got a lot of shiznat done yesterday. i always say that when i do minimal things. really, i brought garbage and recycling out, did and folded 3 loads of laundry and watched a (3hour) yankees game besides using the Internet and talking on the phone. oh, i put a few pix from Bloom and tons from Earth Day up on flickr . i like that STone once again called me the official kid's stage photographer. i like being official. I went there and watched "Balzac and the Little Chinese Seamstress" which was surprisingly funny and very good. it was in chinese with english subtitles. usually i have karapist on movie night, but we've been doing wed bc that's when psych is there, too. usually the movies are depressing documentaries on international suffering or something. ok sometime. not every week.

and today was the day at the waldorf school and it was the BEST THING EVER!!! omg, i am in love! it's in a nice house and is homey. and the people that work there are homies = rad. first at the meeting the director, C, handed out cards for an amazing event VBC that she wants the school to be part of and it's put on by the same people that did Earth Day, the city repair project, so, uh, that's pretty freaking cool. and then we read some daily words of wisdom and had a group hug. uh, what? oh, and no one wears shoes inside.

C is like a big mama bear. so pleasant and loving and has simon and garfunkle as her ring tone. and the teachers there rock the hizzy. but, my role is lead teacher (actually to become director of AB Beginnings, the 0-5 location of AB) and the teachers have had no one there to discipline them so C told me I might be unpopular, but really, the thing she's most concerned about is keeping "family groups" with the teacher (auntie or uncle) and a baby, todd, young ps, old ps together and not always in the same space. that should be easy to handle. and i'm a very lax but it still gets done leader person, i kind of don't care as long as everything's ok, today i was with 2 families sharing downstairs space and it wasn't like they were talking BS, they were totally interacting with the kids first. oh, and she needs me to organize things - that's my main role is to get it together, i am pretty good at that and it's so mellow there that i just have to keep my cool and it'll be amazing. and i've decided i am just taking things as they come. i am doing this now and waiting to see what happens with school and the apprenticeship and take it from there. oooow-owwwwoooooooo!!!!!

and i've been really into feist. she was rad on the colbert report, more relaxed than i've seen her. and colbert looked hot in the blue sparkly pants suit in the 1-2-3-4 video
