i can go to school and live, too!

WOO-HOO! i got my financial aid packet. I got enough loan money to cover my classes and extra for books and room and board and transportation! and i don't know about the scholarship, i would assume they would send something to everyone who applied whether they got it or not, but i don't know. but anyway, i can afford to go to school and live!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YaY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i had a really good day. took out some garbage. did some dishes. showered. went to the hippies and illed. went to the farmer's market with STone and the band and rocked out for FOUR hours! 3:30-7:30, it was FUN. lots of good people and tons of kids. i need a baby. not like right now or anything, but i have to be a mommy, i will someday. i also realized that doing stuff like that, being around people, helping out the band, listening to great music, relaxing in the sun, singing and dancing are all really good for me. sitting around my house is not. it was a good day.

also, the website that i was gonna take over is now up. it's just a blog. mbass made STone a page but i don't think it's that great. everyone else thinks it's great. it has taken a year and a half to get this far, so i guess something is better than nothing. STone asked me to be the updater. webmaster if you will. as mentioned, i want to make some design changes. here is the site if you wanna check it.

i have to leave at some ungodly hour tomorrow. i have to be out of my house walking at 6:40, mind you to be at training at 8. that only leaves 5 minutes btw my connecting bus but i don't think there's that much bus traffic at that time. there better not be. i am excited for tomorrow, actually.

(i am not excited about the fact that the online portion of my loan verification is not completing. it's been trying to do the last step for like 1/2 hour. although i need it ASAP, i think i can wait until tomorrow to do it. i will send in the paper copy. yee-haw!)

UPDATE: it's almost 2am, i can't sleep. this always happens when i have something in the morning. nerves. whether nervous or excited. i decided it got too late for a sleeping pill since i have to be up in 4 hours. ugh. i also have a slight headache. i hope it's my period bc i didn't get it last month and i am due this month and like last month same pms, same aches and cramps, no period. well, yet this month. i know stress can do it. but i am on the pill. it's really hard to do that. but i do get really stressed. anyway, this is sure relaxing me into a dreamy slumber. my tactic was to charge my i-pod and phone whilst the a/c cools down my room bc i was hot. i am always hot. but it's hot. hot. now all i can think of is paris hilton. great. haha, did y'all see the new jessica simpson beer ad? search for it. it's real. hahhahahaha. ok, i'm gonna try to sleep with no dreams. bc there's a lot of weird stuff floating round up there right now. i say. i do i say. i fare thee a good night.

Oh MY GOD!!!!!!!!!!! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU. Believe it or not, I've been really worried about this. I am so happy that your money came through. You've really needed a break and now you've got one.

Does this mean that you won't have to work while you take grad school classes? If not, just put your whole self into the learning process. Go forward with your life. Feel good about growing and about your knowledge. Let yourself live. Be alive. Maybe this sounds hokey, but for once, your not doing something to get by... your doing something to feel alive and to better yourself and your future.

What's better, is that when you feel sick or anxious or scared or unprepared, you don't have to deal with 8 hours of it. You can push yourself out the door for an hour and be done and be successful. I don't know about you, but for me, that hour of class is as good as any therapy session. I feel so much better after going to class.

Congratulations... this couldn't have gone more your way.

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!! it means so much to mean, you've been supporting me all along, sorry you were worried =/

i'll have a decent amount extra each semester, but i have to get books (no idea about cost - but one class is free bc i am taking a later class. noice) and a bus pass each month and rent each month will be covered definitely. past that like net and phone and other bills i will most likely need to have a job for, but i no longer have to stress about having a FT high paying job, I can keep this Sub decent paying job OR i did qualify for work-study so i gotta check into that. i think i actually need to go to the financial aid office.

and my classes are 3.25-4.25 hours on 2 nights and marathons on saturdays of 4.5 and 2.25, i opted to take the later class bc then i get a 3 hour break instead of 7 hours of classes in a row. i wouldn't make it. but i do love me some school. woooo!

That is great news!
I remember the relief I felt when I got my loans. I'm very happy for you.

Re: textbooks... I get mine at Half.com I usually buy the previous version (if it's not more than a few years old) for about $10-$15. You can even get newer versions for $60-$80ish. This was a great discount considering the sticker price in the university bookstore was usually well over $100.

Just make sure you leave yourself enough time for them to be delivered. Mine usually came within a week.

Hope that helps!

ttttttttttthanks!

for one class i am getting the books reimbursed for taking the later section, suckers, i would've taken it anyway. the other is a field experience so that won't need a book. so i'll need books for 3 classes. since i won't have money before classes i might get book vouchers which i think will come out of my loan money. but...i might try this 1/2.com thing, i have like 3 weeks after labor day wkend. i wonder if they have their bookstore online. everything should be online.

holy long winded batman!
